Common questions.

What does a heat pump tune-up cost?

$229. That covers a full inspection, cleaning, and safety check. No hidden fees.

How long does it take?

About 1 to 1.5 hours.

When is the best time to get a heat pump tune-up?

Spring or fall — before you're switching modes. That said, it's worth doing anytime if it hasn't been done in the last 12 months.

What's included?

A complete inspection of your indoor and outdoor coils, refrigerant levels, electrical connections, capacitors, contactor, reversing valve, fan motor, and drain line. We clean outdoor coils, condensate drain lines, outdoor debris removal, and test both heating and cooling modes, and tell you exactly what we found.

Does my heat pump need refrigerant?

It shouldn't. A properly functioning system doesn't consume refrigerant. If your system is low, that means there's a leak. We'll find it, tell you what it costs to fix, and let you decide how to proceed. No pressure.

Why is my heat pump not heating or cooling properly?

Most common causes are low refrigerant, dirty coils, a failing capacitor, or a reversing valve issue. A tune-up catches all of these. If something's found we'll give you a straight quote to fix it.

How often should I get a heat pump tune-up?

Once a year. Because your heat pump runs year-round, annual maintenance is especially important. It extends the life of your system, keeps it running efficiently, and helps you avoid emergency repairs.

Is a filter included?

No. Filters are available at an additional cost. If you need one, we'll let you know and won't surprise you with the charge.

What if my heat pump is old — is a tune-up still worth it?

Absolutely. A tune-up on an older system can extend its life and help you plan ahead. We'll give you an honest assessment of what we find — if the system is on its last legs, we'll tell you that too. No pressure to replace until you're ready.

What if something's wrong with my heat pump?

We'll tell you what we found, what it means, and what it costs to fix. No pressure. You decide.
